Fleetwood Mac

After Friday’s cut at +3 or better at The British Open Carnoustie Golf Tournament, the leaderboard lists some unexpected challengers and a couple of familiar faces. We are also a bit surprised to see a couple of major disappointments who didn’t cut the mustard, namely World # 2 Justin Thomas and World #1 Dustin Johnson. Thomas shot 77 Friday with three doubles in a row and finished one off the cut line at +4. Joining DJ at +6 was #13 and Pensacola Blue Wahoo owner Bubba Watson. Sportsbozos pick to win the tournament Tommy Fleetwood shot the tournament low round of 65 (-6) Friday to launch into a three way tie for third at -5, one off the pace of the leaders Zach Johnson (-4 Friday ) and Kevin Kisner (-1 Friday) who will tee off in the last group Saturday, tied at six under. The rain Friday softened the greens and the scoring improved, especially for those with afternoon tee times. Rory checked in with two rounds of (-2) and is in solid contention tied for sixth with four others. Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler are stalking at 3 under, tied for 11th. Bozo’s choice to finish in the top 5, Justin Rose just made the cut at +3. Rose may have needed more water. Sergio Garcia, the ultimate gentleman, is headed back to his rock in Spain until next year when he decides to grace us with his presence. Ptooey. The Bozos made the mistake to rate Sergio to finish in the top 20. Phil and Tiger are both Even and we may get lucky and see them paired up over the weekend. Tiger was up and down and shot 71 twice. Phil recovered to shoot 69 Friday after a double on 6 while in danger of missing the cut. Phil said he would have stopped a rolling train to make it to the weekend. That’s a direct quote.
DJ was the Bozo’s second choice here and he turned the course into his own personal sandbox, making mistake after mistake on the back nine both days (six bogeys). Dustin just boarded BOAC back to La-La Land where he has a tee time in Malibu Sunday with The Great One, wife Paulina and Johnny Mac himself. Maybe he can beat one or two of them, but I wouldn’t be so sure, Gretzky needs no assist, Paulina has a soft touch and John has developed a magic topspin putting stroke!
Let’s get back to Tommy Boy, the Bozo’s crystal vision and lone hope for glory. Fleetwood birdied six holes Friday without a single hole over par for a fabulous round (two off his own course record of 63) and we have the utmost confidence that he will represent the Bozo’s umpteen followers come Sunday afternoon. He’ll be lurking Saturday one group back waiting for Kisner and Zach to find the pot bunkers and will pounce to victory on his favorite track. Rory could be tough but he has choked recently when in contention late in the majors. My bet is he shows up this time though. Spieth and Fowler will make it tense for Tommy and Rory coming off the pace. We have Rickie in our Top 10 and we expect to cash that ticket as well as the 20-1 we are getting on Fleetwood! Tommy and the Bozo world are hoping for some strong winds to pick up, our boy will benefit from the tougher conditions- home field baby! Fleetwood and McIlroy, The Fleetwood Mac exacta!
