Fantasy Football- The First Round

Bozo Brett and his Top 12 Fantasy Picks

  1. Todd Gurley

Why I Would – I have not witnessed a fantasy running back ever do what this man did last year. Yes, I am only 25 years old, however he is just way too powerful, fast and elusive to not want to watch drive into the end zone for you week after week. Draft him at 1 or regret it.

Why I Wouldn’t – The man just locked up a long term contract with big money. He could regress because of this.

  1. Le’Veon Bell

Why I Would – Next year Le’Veon will be locked into a long term deal. *Cough* (The Colts) I see him using this season to prove all of his worth to the world. In my opinion, the Steelers now have the best offensive line after the two hits the Cowboys have taken the last two weeks. He’s going to run, catch, and score the football.

Why I Wouldn’t – He could take everything I just said above and save his legs for next season.

  1. Ezekiel Elliott

Why I Would – When Zeke is on the field the cowboys and their pretty boy Dak are significantly a better football team. They are going to feed this guy more touches than ever before. Jerry does not care if he runs his young into the ground like a horse giving carriage rides in Central Park. I see Zeke finishing the year with the most carries in the NFL.

Why I Wouldn’t – As stated above, the Cowboys took two big hits to their offensive line so far this offseason. I’d like to see how this effects Zeke.

  1. Saquon Barkley

Why I Would – You do not draft a rookie RB 2nd overall and not use him in every way possible. Saquon will be catching passes as a RB and WR. He will also see touches on 1st-3rd down. He is the most gifted athlete I have ever seen in my life. He is stronger than Luke Kuechly, faster than Zeke, and had a larger vertical jump than OBJ. Look out for this man.

Why I Wouldn’t – He is a rookie RB running behind an upgraded line that is still sub-par. Let’s hope he can create the holes all NY fans hope he can.

  1. David Johnson

Why I Would – If you turn back to the 2016 season those who scooped this man off the waiver wire remember all of the perks it came with. He is a savage running back with all the qualities you want. A safe pick as he has completely healed from last season’s injury.

Why I Wouldn’t – I do not trust the Cards offense whatsoever. DJ is going to be the focal point and defensives will be zoned in only on him. Unless you are nervous about the Larry Fitz being too old or QBs Bradford or Rosen.

  1. Antonio Brown

Why I Would – Unguardable with a super bowl winning QB, the best offensive line in football, and Le’Veon to pull in those LBs. Antonio never disappoints.

Why I Wouldn’t – Big Ben is one concussion away from his brain exploding. If he goes down Antonio’s value will as well.

  1. Leonard Fournette

Why I Would – Leonard is a beast. I doubted him last year when he said the NFL is slower than he thought. He proved that to be true. And he slimmed down….!!!! Watch out! I can see him finishing in the Top 3 for RBs this year.

Why I Wouldn’t – He is still a Jaguar. When were Jaguars cool to own in fantasy? I do not see the system producing anywhere close to what they did last year.

  1. Odell Beckham JR.

Why I Would – He is always compared to Antonio Brown. Yet, as indicated above, Antonio has an offensive line to give him an extra second to break free and a RB on his team for the opposite side to worry about. Guess what Odell got this offseason for Christmas? Expect a significant amount of dancing in the end zone this year in MetLife Stadium.

Why I Wouldn’t – His ankle. He shattered it completely. Let’s hope he is fully healed and this injury does not nag him all season.

  1. DeAndre Hopkins

Why I Would – Nuke! I love this guy’s swag and confidence. He is getting his guy back in Watson. Look for DeAndre to pick up just where he left off before Watson went down. He is dangerous. Draft him.

Why I Wouldn’t – I would like to see if Watson is healthy before I get too excited about Nuke.

  1. Kareem Hunt

Why I Would – A rookie quarter back equals a ton of touches. Kareem is also known to have strong hands. They trust him with the football and his rookie year is in the past. He is going to be just fine running the ball in KC.

Why I Wouldn’t – New offense with a new rookie QB. Defensives are going to be bringing the house every down until the gunslinger Mahomes proves himself.

  1. Alvin Kamara

Why I Would – The first 6 games of the year you could possibly have the highest scoring RB in the league. He will be the head of one of the most powerful offenses in football. When Mark Ingram comes back he will still get you the points you deserve because of his ability to catch the football.

Why I Wouldn’t – When Mark Ingram returns he will share touches and have to deal with a pass happy Drew Brees. This might bite you come playoff time.

  1. Melvin Gordon

Why I Would – He’s a safe play and if you are lucky enough you will be able to pair him with OBJ. I love this pick at 12. You are going to get consistent points with an RB who is in a good offense.

Why I Wouldn’t – He just isn’t a sexy pick that you want in the first round. Additionally, I don’t trust the Chargers in any aspect and therefore selecting Melvin in the 1st round makes me nervous.
