NFL Week 2 Bozo Recap

The Head Bozo went 9-7 in Week 2 after the 9-6-1 from Week 1, our early season record stands at 18-13-1 (58%)

Unfortunately our parlays and teaser Best Bozo Bets (0-3) went bust as our strongest plays died in Tampa, New Orleans and San Francisco.

On Thursday last, the Bengals scored a fairly easy win after jumping to a 21-1 lead over the Ravens and held on to win 34-23. (Win)

The Colts came in as 5 ½ point dogs and won outright in Maryland against the DC Redskins 21-9. A pitiful performance by the Redskins (1-1) as they could only muster 3 FGs and Andrew Luck’s 2 TD passes proved enough for the Colts to even their record at (1-1) (Win)

The Panthers (+5 1/2) came up a couple of points shy of covering as Matt Ryan recovered from his embarrassing Week 1 performance by running for 2 TDs as the Falcons held on 31-24. (Loss)

In a crazy 29-29 overtime tie, the Vikings came back to score 22 fourth quarter points in Lambeau against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. A piss poor roughing call against Clay Matthews allowed Minnesota to climb back in this NFC North battle. In OT, Vikings K Daniel Carlson missed two makeable FGS and was canned after the game. We liked the purple guys and the Kicker ruined us as we had to lay 1 ½. (Loss)

Chargers blew out Buffalo early as Josh Allen took his first loss of many 31-20 A Bolts win was never in doubt. (Win)

Blaine Gabbert and Tennessee upset Houston in Nashville 20-17. The Titans pulled off a 66 yd. fake punt to start the ball rolling and the Texans struggled and eventually lost by a FG with a minute to play. This one surprised us with Watson at QB unable to put up more than 2 scores. (Loss)

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs cruised to a 21-0 first quarter lead before winning outright as the dog and holding off the desperate Steelers 42-37 in Pittsburgh. Mahomes, with 6 TD passes now has ten on the young season. Lots of talent on the Chiefs and lots of whining on the Steelers. (Win)

Miami rolled into the Meadowlands and lit up Sam Darnold and the Jets for a 20-0 halftime lead before holding on for a nice divisional win 20-12. (Win)

Our lock of the week, Philly stunk up the Sombrero giving up 4 TDs to FitzMagic and the Bucs, pathetically losing 27-21. Game was never close as DeSean Jackson took it to the house on the first play. Tampa is a shocker of the League so far with wins against two top 5 teams. (Loss)

HB bombed again with the Saints unable to cover against the hapless Browns. NO had to kick a game winning FG to win 21-18 at home to stave off another loss to an inferior team. Cleveland missed an extra point and an easy FG and like Minnesota, dismissed their Kicker. (Loss)

The Rams clobbered the Cardinals 34-0 as the Josh Rosen era is sure to begin soon in Arizona. (Win)

Detroit scored a back door cover to only lose by three in SF 30-27. Niners gave up 2 TDs in the 4th to let the Lions back in this one. Jimmy’s gotta learn how to close out games. (Loss)

We pegged the Jags to turn the tables on Pretty Boy and the Pats. Out to a 21-3 halftime lead, the Jags to their credit, did not pack it in and played loose. To score a huge early season win 31-20 against their biggest Conference challenger. (Win)

The Raiders covered in Denver losing by a late FG to ruin Gruden’s first chance at a 2018 win. Oakland was up 12-0 at the half and led the entire game until the fatal last play losing 20-19. (Win)

The Giants were horrendous and again their offensive line was literally offensive to watch. Poor Eli. Dallas out schemed Shurmer and the G-men all game to win easily 20-13. (Loss)

Chicago came up big as solid QB play by Mitchy the Kid led Da Bears to an easy win against a weak 2018 Seahawks team 24-17. (Win)

All that for 9-7!
