Sportsbozos go out on a limb for Thursday Night Football

Week 4: Vikings @ Rams (-7)

The Minnesota Vikings laid a big purple egg at home on Sunday last and dropped a seemingly sure win as a 17 point favorite to rookie QB Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, 27-6. After the biggest upset in the NFL in over 20 years, Minnesota with only three days’ rest travels two time zones west to play the 3-0 and current Super Bowl favorites Los Angeles Rams. Road teams are 0-10 travelling two time zones on Thursday night after playing Sunday.

This sounds like an easy pick as the Rams have averaged over 30 points a game in their 3 dominant wins. Their defense, led by superstar Aaron Donald, is the best in football letting up an average of only 12 points per game.

All signs point to L.A. right? Wrong again, Moose breath! The Rams have lost both CBs to injury, Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters. Kirk Cousins, after an embarrassing performance will be happy to chuck the rock to Stephon Diggs and Adam Thielen all night long against the Ram backup defenders. Minnesota will be rolling out Cousins to stifle the rush and use RB Dalvin Cook to keep the Ram D honest to prove last week’s Bills game was a fluke.

In the craziness that is the NFL, you want to see through the obvious and expect the unexpected. The Vikings will win this game and reestablish themselves as a force in the NFC. The 7 points is nice to have in case a roughing the passer penalty against the Purple People Eaters late in the game puts the outcome in the hands of the zebras. The ghost of Joe Kapp has been summoned!
