Vikings- Eagles Rematch Highlight NFL Week 5 Schedule

Thursday Night Result NE 38 – IND 24

As expected, the Brady Bunch destroyed the Colts, coasting to a 38-24 victory after barreling out to a 24-3 first half lead. Pretty Boy TB-12 threw his 500th TD pass to Bonghit Josh Gordon and his old buddy Herb Edelman returned to snare 7 deflated balls. Luck engineered a couple of sustained drives but the Colts could not overcome the string of injuries that have plagued them this year so far. (Win)

We’re only going to focus on the two most meaningful and potentially exciting games this weekend.

Vikings at Eagles

In a rematch of the 2017 NFC Championship Game, Minnesota again travels to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. After being lauded as Super Bowl contenders, the Vikings were embarrassed by the Bills and the Rams in consecutive weeks after the tie with GB and are in dire need of a win in Philly to even their record at 2-2-1. The Purple gang will be seeking revenge after their 38-7 thumping in January. Meanwhile, the Eagles choked last week in Nashville in OT 26-23 giving up a 4th quarter lead to an inferior team.

As both defenses are struggling, giving up over 400 yards per game, we love the Over (46 ½). Kirk Cousins is certainly familiar with playing at the Linc. from his days with the Skins and we look for him the right the Vikings ship through the air against a vulnerable Eagles defensive backfield that gave up huge games recently to Corey Davis of Tennessee, DeSean Jackson of TB and Julio Jones of Atlanta. Minnesota cannot allow the Bears and Packers to pull away in the division and although still early in the season, the Vikes are in desperation mode. Revenge will be sweet. Take the 3 points and the over in this barn burner.

Jaguars at Chiefs

The second game we are analyzing is the 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars at the 4-0 KC Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes is the early season MVP as he has led his exciting Chiefs with Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt to an undefeated start and over 36 points per game. A true test of offense vs. defense this Sunday comes as the potent KC offense faces the best defense they’ll see all year. Jacksonville gives up only 14 points per game and is #1 in total defense.

The key to this game unfortunately for Jags fans is that Leonard Fournette will again not play due to his perpetual hamstring injury, forcing the inconsistent Blake Bortles to throw more often than he would prefer.

Mahomes is a special player, magically creating opportunities for his offense as he escapes the pocket. The Jags D will only be able to corral him for so long before Hunt or Hill break a long one. KC has momentum after a Monday night 2nd half comeback in Denver and although the Jags have beaten NE, they still pathetically lost 9-6 at home to Tennessee in Week 3. Jax only had to show up to win against the Jets last week in that farce. They better be ready for this offense.

Bozos like the favored Chiefs- 3 at home in noisy Arrowhead.

Other Games:

Baltimore -3 at Cleveland. The Baker Browns are still learning and the Ravens are on a roll after impressively wiping out Pittsburgh.

Tennessee -5 ½ goes to 4-1 after controlling the line for 60 minutes in Buffalo.

Giants +6 ½ at Carolina. New Giants’ and former Carolina GM Dave Gettleman return to NC to face Cam and the chest pounders. F-them, New York steals one as the Panthers overlook the talent of the Giants as Odell and Barkley break out.

Denver (Even) over the Jets. I don’t know what happened to the Week 1 Jets but they better find out soon. Maybe it is the Butt-wiper curse. Case Keenum is looking better and the Broncos defense with Von Miller will be too much for untested rookie Sam Darnold.

Pittsburgh –3 home over the Falcons. Both these teams are unpredictable and make too many mistakes. Both defenses are in such disarray that the Over/ Under is 58! Steelers get lucky at the end of this see-saw high scoring battle.

GB (Even) in Detroit. I still don’t trust Matt Patricia running a Pro Football team all by himself. Rodgers over Stafford in a crucial early divisional game GB. Another “whoever has the ball last” type game and in that case, we’ll always turn to Mr. Rodgers.

Dolphins +6 in Cincinnati. The Bengals are playing well at 3-1 and the same record Fins looked like garbage last week not showing up vs. NE. While I think the Redhead will get a win at home against Ray Finkle’s old team, the Snowflakes will come close but wind up in the losing end of the pool.

Cards +4 at SF. AZ and Mr. Rosen get their first win if they can stay away from the sweet odor in Golden Gate Park. I’m sure some Dead cover band will be jamming.

Raiders +5 at LA Chargers. The Raiders and Bolts will play close but the team formerly from Jack Murphy Stadium kick a late FG to disappoint Gruden and Carr once again in what is proving to be a tough season. Melvin Gordon is a beast.

Rams -7 travel to the Fish market in Seattle and will continue to reign as the League’s very best as they sushi roll over the lox Seahawks.

Houston -3 at home will win the battle of Texas. No, not Beto vs. Ted, but the real matchup of two struggling teams hoping to find an identity. JJ Watt and Bozo favorite Jadeveon Clowney will be chasing down Dak and Zeke all night in this low scoring affair. Houston and the under.

NO and Brees -6 1/2 over Washington. The Skins have had a break since pounding GB at home in Week 3 and will be rusty. Passing record holder Drew Brees will put it in the end zone this week after settling for too many FGs against the Giants. Alex Smith is still too conservative.

Best Bets

KC- 3 Jax

Min +3 Phil
