Bozos actually pick winners of the best two games of Week 5
The top team in the AFC, the undefeated KC Chiefs answered the bell Sunday in their toughest test so far, putting a hurting on the Jacksonville Jaguars 30-14. The Jags, with the best defense in the league could not withstand the offensive firepower of Patrick Mahomes, TE Travis Kelce and RB Kareem Hunt. Blake Bortles contributed to his team’s woes by chucking 4 INTs while attempting to get back in the game after being down 20-0 early Bortles abandoned the running game early and threw 61 passes. KC sits comfortably atop the AFC West at 5-0 while Jacksonville slips into a 3-2 tie in the AFC South with Tennessee, who fell 13-12 to Josh Allen’s Bills in Buffalo.
Minnesota exacted revenge on the Eagles 23-21 in Philly as Kirk Cousins completed 17 passes to Thielen and Diggs. The Vikings, ahead 20-6 entering the 4th quarter held off a late charge by Carson Wentz to prevail. The Bears and Vikes are ½ game back of the 3-1 Bye week Bears at 2-2-1 in the NFC North. Philly slides to 2-3 to continue the Super Bowl hangover.
In other games, the Browns finally got a home division win over the Ravens 12-9 in a physical game in northeast Ohio. Number 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield gets the game ball in a big first home win!
Aaron Rodgers fumbled twice early in the game and Mason Crosby missed 4 FGs and an extra point as Detroit held off GB 31-23 after sprinting to a 24-0 halftime lead. Rodgers denied reports he has spent too much time in the pit with Danica Patrick.
The Jets scored on two long plays of 77 and 76 years in the second quarter to lead NY to a 34-16 home win vs. a struggling Broncos team that fell to 2-3. Denver coach Vance Joseph is now on the Bozo’s hot seat radar. Sam Darnold threw for 3 TDs and the Butt wiper RB Crowell ran for a career high 219 yards.
The Rams squeaked by the Seahawks in Seattle 33-31 to remain the only undefeated team in the NFC.
The Steelers were desperate for a win and took out their frustrations on an injured Falcons team as Big Ben and Antonio Brown led Pittsburgh to a 41-17 easy victory. Pit6tsburgh evens their record to 2-2-1 while Atlanta sunk to a disappointing 1-4. Arthur is drawing a Blank.
Phillip Rivers had an impeccable 22-27 passing day for the Chargers as LA (3-2) easily shook off the Raiders 26-10. Oakland at 1-4 will be mathematically out of the division race in a few weeks.
As predicted by the Bozos, Arizona finally secured their first win over the Jimmy G.-less Niners 28-18 in Santa Clara. Both these teams are out of it at 1-4.
Another Hot Seat Alert: Bozo Hot Seat Favorite Jason Garrett wimped out in OT by not going for it on 4th and 2 tied 16-16 with 4 minutes to go. Star RB Zeke Elliot remained on the bench while the Cowgirls punted. Houston subsequently drove for the winning FG to win the Texas two-step and go 2-3. Jerry’s girls stumble to 2-3.
Drew Brees set every record known to man Monday as the Saints crushed the overmatched Redskins in the Big Easy 43-19. After losing their first game, the Saints have won 4 straight to lead the NFC South by a half game over the Panthers.
Carolina, aided by phantom interference and roughing calls on the Giants managed to kick a 63 yard FG to beat the Giants 33-31 as time expired in Charlotte. The Giants, despite having to overcome overofficious refs, mounted a hard fought comeback after being down by 11 to take the lead late in the game. OBJ actually caught and threw a TD pass. NY #1 pick Saquon Barkley phenomenally leaped into the end zone with what should have been the game winning TD after catching the Beckham TD pass earlier. He’s the real deal, unfortunately if the Giants at 1-4, lose at Philly Thursday, their season is essentially over.
Miami, up 17- in the third quarter snatched defeat from the JAWS of victory. Ryan Tannehill threw a Pick Six and gave up a fumble return for a TD late in the game to squander the lead and eventually lost 27-17 to the Bengals. The Redheaded stepchild aided by Joe Mixon’s 112 yards rushing were able to hold on as Cincinnati move to a one game lead in the AFC North at 4-1. Miami has lost their last two after starting 3-0 and now are tied with NE at the top of the AFC East.
SportsBozos went 8-6 with their picks but won BOTH of the Bozo Best Bets (Min. and KC)
