Sportsbozos.com NFL Week 6 Wrap-up

Sportsbozos recap the Week 6 games including fantastic finishes by Brady and Rodgers!

Brady Buzzer Beater

Sunday night’s exciting finish with the Patriots nipping the Chiefs 43-40 at the buzzer was another one for the ages. It was no surprise that Belichick and Brady were able to fend off up and coming superstar Patrick Mahomes and the previously undefeated Chiefs, but the back and forth drama made this game one of the most exciting to watch this season. KC made a game of it with 31 2nd half points after trailing 24-9 at the half as Mahomes threw TD passed to both Hill and Hunt and the Chiefs also had a 97 yard kickoff return. Hill’s 75 yard grab tied it up at 40, but Brady, given a last chance, got his team in range for a Gostowski winning FG with clutch passes to James White and the Gronk to secure the win. Belichick answered Reid’s challenge once again and New England now finds itself in the AFC driver’s seat. NE moved to 4-2 and KC is now 5-1. (Lost by a hook!)

Rodgers late magic never gets old

Not to be outdone by Brady, Aaron Rodgers put together his own last minute drive Monday night as the Packers QB ran for a crucial first down and passed for two others in the final minute to set up Mason Crosby’s winning FG to win 33-30 over the 49ers. Less than 2 minutes earlier Rodgers found Adams for a tying TD to level the game at 30. New Niners CB Richard Sherman was flagged with a costly illegal contact penalty to allow Rodgers to finish off the drive that tied the game. GB is 3-2-1 while SF slid to 1-5. (Loss- didn’t cover)

Nagy blunder lets Fins off the hook

In one of the greatest games in recent Miami Dolphins history, Miami slipped past Chicago 31-28 in overtime. After fumbling on the one, Kenyon Drake was able to regain his composure after former Dolphin Cody Parker was wide right on his 53 yard attempt to win the game. Bears coach Matt Nagy should be ostracized in the Windy City after pathetically not throwing on 3rd and 4 from the Miami 38, instead setting his team up to fail hoping for a 53 yarder. Brock Osweiler started for an injured Tannehill and found a new favorite target in Albert Wilson who turned two short passes into long TDs with his outstanding breakaway speed. The Fins are 4-2 tied with NE in the AFC East. Da Bears, after a 3 game winning streak, fell to 3-2. (Win)

In other games, the Chargers clobbered the Browns in Cleveland 38-14. (Win)

Minnesota easily pummeled the Cardinals 27-17. (Win)

The Redskins held off Cam Newton’s Panthers in Maryland 23-17. (Win)

The Jets outscored the Colts 42-34 in Jersey. (Loss)

The Steelers regained their form ousting the Bengals in the Queen City 28-21 (Win)

Atlanta covered in a game with a crazy finish at home vs. TB, 34-29. (Win)

Oakland never showed up in London and Russell Wilson’s Seahawks did, in this embarrassing drubbing, 27-3 (Loss)

Buffalo played tough losing in Houston 20-13, if not for another Nathan Peterman (Josh Allen was knocked out) meltdown the game heads into OT. (Win)

A stupid taunting penalty on Emmanuel Sanders hurt any chance for Denver to upset the undefeated Rams. In a game played in 25 degree weather, LA lucked out 23-20. Denver’s formerly tough defense is now Swiss cheese. (Loss)

Dallas surprised Jacksonville 40-7 in Big D and exposed their once heralded defense as overrated. (Loss)

The real Titans showed up again and laid a stinker in Baltimore as the Ravens shut out Tennessee 21-0. (Win)

The incredibly dysfunctional Giants were embarrassed at home against the Eagles, 34-13, in what was one of Eli Manning and New York’s most humiliating loss. (Loss)

An uneventful (8-7) for the Week
