Thursday Night Matchup: Packers at Seahawks
- Updated: 11/15/2018
Everybody remembers the 2014 NFC Championship Game in Seattle where the Packers tied it up at 22 with a Crosby FG with 14 seconds left and Jermaine Kearse hauled in a 35 yard TD from Russell Wilson to win it in OT. Both Head Coaches, Pete Carroll and Mike McCarthy are still at the helm of their respective teams and so are the two QBs, Wilson and Rodgers.
This is a critical 10th game for each team, both fighting for a playoff spot. GB is 4-4-1 while the Seahawks are 4-5. Seattle is first in rushing this season and Wilson has won three straight against the Pack. GB is 21st against the run, however on offense GB has discovered a weapon in another Aaron, Aaron Jones, who ran for 145 yards against the Dolphins in their decisive win last week.
Both teams, as evidenced by their records are inconsistent. Seattle has dropped two in a row against the LA teams and prior to the Packers win over Miami, the Pack lost a pair to the Pats and the Rams in tight games.
As a momentum and a revenge play, the Bozos are banking on Aaron Rodgers to keep his team in the playoff hunt as they head to another crucial game next week against their division rival, the Vikings, in Minnesota. Mr. Rodgers always seems to pull one out of his, er uh, hat in desperate times and we expect to see a little of that old Green and Gold magic this evening. Wilson has struggled passing as his offensive line is suspect when it comes to pass blocking. GB +3.
