Week 15 NFL Bozo Preview and Chiefs-Chargers Review

As the Bozos suspected, the 3 ½ point underdog Carson Chargers not only kept it close against KC in Arrowhead, they won it as time expired with a 2 point conversion, 29-28. The Lightning Bolts rebounded from 14 point deficits three times to tie KC for the top spot in the AFC West at 11-3.

In the first half the Bolts were down 14-0 before cutting into the lead with a 2nd quarter score. From 21-7, then 21-14, finally 28-14, Rivers never gave up. A Justin Jackson TD run with 3:49 to play made it 28-21 and with the ensuing three-and-out forced by the Bolts defense, the Chargers had the ball back with 2 ½ on the clock. With 70 yards to go, Rivers drove the field and with four seconds left hit Mike Williams for a back door pass in the end zone to make it 28-27. Coach Anthony Lynn decided quickly he was going for the win and called another Rivers pass to Williams, who was wide open for the 2-pointer and the win. 29-28 Bolts! This was the 1st time since 2002 a 2-point conversion won the game in the final 10 seconds. The Chargers had not beaten KC since 2013 and the Old Man Rivers train keeps rolling along. Mahomes and the KC offense is truly unstoppable most of the time, but is the case too frequently, the Chiefs defense crumbled in the clutch.
Although the teams are tied, KC holds the tiebreaker and plays Seattle and Oakland, while the Chargers most likely need to win both of their games, vs. Baltimore and Denver to possibly win the division. Both teams have secured playoff berths.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, yes Saturday football is upon us! The morning is open to do whatever and at 4:30 pm the games begin. Unfortunately it’s the Jets hosting the Texans, but we’ll take it. The night game is a little better, Cleveland at Denver. Cold December games in Mile High are traditionally great NFL battles, and with the improvement of the Browns, this should be a good one. Baker Mayfield is a fighter and the punishing Broncos defense will be chasing him around all evening.

Sunday of WEEK 15 brings us a big game with two longtime playoff rivals facing off. New England at Pittsburgh. Both coming off brutal last second losses, the Steelers in Oakland on a missed FG and the Pats in Miami on the Magic City Miracle. In fact, Pittsburgh has now dropped 3 in a row, the defense faltering each time.

New England is fighting for a home field bye as a 1 or 2 seed, while Pittsburgh is only ½ game ahead of the Ravens at 7-5-1 in the AFC North. Baltimore (7-6) hosts the Groper and the Bucs at home with eyes on the division and if not, then the last wild card. NE has had Pittsburgh’s number of late, beating the Steelers the last five times they have faced off.
Big Ben will play, but with injured ribs. James Connor is unlikely to suit up with a bad ankle. Tom Brady owns the Steelers. Since 2007, TB-12 has 70% completed passes, 23 TDs and only one INT. The Pats are just 3-4 on the road this season with losses to the Lions, Titans, Jags and Fins.

With Big Ben facing the likelihood of getting knocked out for a spell, no running back and a Swiss-cheese defense, look for Pretty Boy Tom to light up the Steelers and send the home faithful crying into those Terrible Towels once again. NE- 2 ½.
Miami (7-6) is still alive for a wild card in the AFC and travel to Minnesota (6-6-1) to face the Vikings, who are also hanging by a thread in the NFC picture. Minnesota dropped their last to and fired their OC this week. They are desperate. But they can’t run as they are ranked 30th. The Head Bozo remains unimpressed with Mr. Big Contract Kirk Cousins, he hasn’t proved anything. The Dolphins, coming off their miracle win vs. the Pats last week, are a fired up bunch, who have talent on both sides of the ball and never give up. We like Miami, especially with 7 ½ points against the desperate and underachieving Vikings.

Believe it or not, there is only one other game with two teams over .500 facing off. The Colts at 7-6, host the surging Cowboys (8-5), winners of 5 in a row. I think the Cowboys Luck will run out here as Andrew Luck and TY Hilton are on fire. The Colts O-Line is one of the best and the Colts defense is impressive. Dallas has already won the NFC Least by all counts, and floats back down to Earth and Indy keeps it interesting in the AFC South. Give the 3 points and pray for LUCK!.

IN LA Sunday night we like the Rams to rebound after their loss to the Bears and deliver some home cooking to the battle scarred Eagles. Philly’s defense is ravaged with injury and now QB Carson Wentz is done for the year. This line has skyrocketed from 9 to 12 ½ and may not be done yet. Look for Goff and Gurley man and the speedy WRs to settle right back into the cozy confines and Malibu and put up some points. I love watching Philly take a spanking and this one should be fun!
