One Bozo went out on a limb and is now looking for a hand

Last week this particular Bozo defiantly picked upsets in each and every game in the NFC and AFC.

The Chiefs playing the Colts was my upset special and I really counted on Andy Reid to pull an annual “ANDY REID” and fizzle out in the playoffs. Instead the Chiefs looked like a well-oiled machine and found a defense for the first time this year and now look like the favorites to roll into the Super Bowl. 0-1 and not feeling as confident or brazen as I was days earlier but there was still time to pull out a couple wins and break even. At this point I am 0-1 and looking to recover in the next game.

So then, I had the ‘Boys beating the Rams on the road and the only beating taking place was the Rams defense turning the Cowboys into chopped meat. In the meantime, the Rams offense made mince meat out of the ‘Boys defense that a week earlier had stuffed the #1 Seattle rushing attack in the NFL. At this point I am 0-2 and looking to recover in the next two games.

The Chargers rolled into New England and the consensus was their defense would maul Tom Brady and his midget receivers. But this Bozo knew better than to trust anybody other than TB12 in January and despite all the listed disadvantages, we knew the hoodie would have his game plan in place and that the Chargers would once again fold like a cheap beach chair and they did not disappoint. The game was over in minutes and TB12 surgically cut apart the defense and put on a clinic for any young QB watching: “take what the defense gives you”. The odd thing in this game was the lack of in game adjusting by the Chargers. At some point, don’t you go to a man defense, bring the heat on Brady and make these limited receivers beat you? Alas, another young genius of a coach falls to the hands of Darth Hoodie and just like that Bozo boy was 1-2 and had momentum.

The Eagles had the Saints on the ropes early and looked to be on the verge of blowing them out much like they blew out the Vikings last year. Somehow, the Saints found a way to right the ship, claw back into the game and with a little over 2 minutes left gave the ball back to magic man Nick Foles. He quickly led them down field hitting a variety of receivers and then a between the numbers pass to his favorite receiver, Alshon Jeffery. I was all set to pump a fist and celebrate when all of the sudden the ball fluttered out of his hands and into the Saints hands and just like that I was 1-3. I was a mere inches away for being hailed as a genius and picking 2 huge upsets. Instead, I am a fool who was ridiculed by one reader who told me “Don’t take your act to Vegas”. I admit it; I was duped by some of these teams and probably relied too much on gut feeling and not on HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE.

This weekend has the Saints at home for the Rams and they rarely lose at the Superdome. The Pats will be visiting the Chiefs in freezing temps. Everything in me tells me the Pats will win and so will the Rams but I’m not ready to make the call yet. I need to clear my head, lick my embarrassment wounds and then make predictions based on home field and coaches.

Stay tuned.
