Shrewd: Is Belichick a Genius or are the other guys just dopes?

From our Bozo from the North:
A few weeks ago this bozo wrote: “Not My first Rodeo” and when everyone was jumping on the Lamar Jackson Bandwagon, we were leaping off like it was famed rodeo bull “Fu Manchu”. On the other hand, we also told everyone jumping off the Patriots bandwagon that we have seen this for over a dozen years with dire predictions. Here we are a month later and Jackson is home and Tom Brady is heading to the Super Bowl for the 27th time or something close to that. How did we get here? The list is long and daunting but I’m up for the task and I think it all comes down to being shrewd.
Belichick is a superior coach to everybody else in the league and year after year he proves that preparation and game planning is more important than having multiple picks in the 1st round of the draft. It is getting to the point of no return for the rest of the league and at this point Andy Reid might want to consider retiring because he will never beat Bill and the Patriots. He lost to them twice this year for those of you keeping track at home. Despite having the hot shot MVP gunslinger at QB, Reid is still nothing more than a Gatorade delivery boy compared to Bill. A few plays into last night’s game illustrated this perfectly in plain sight. Early in the game, down 14-0, the Chiefs had a critical 3rd and 2 in their own territory. Did he put the ball in the hands of his supposed MVP Mahomes? Give it to the electrifying Tyreek Hill? Find all-world Travis Kelce? Screen pass to Sammy Watkins? Of course not, let’s give it to our 3rd string running back Damian Williams, who started the year on the practice squad, for no gain up the middle. Shrewd. Take the ball out of your most talented player’s hands in a huge game. Belichick is given so much credit for being a genius but sometimes I wonder if he is just taking advantage of idiot savants on the other side of the field
Tom Brady is as old as Ruth Bader Ginsberg and probably can’t beat her in a race, yet yesterday at the age of 84, Tom Brady attempted 46 passes. The young stud Mahomes who has been crowned the MVP by the mass media attempted only 31 passes. Tyrekek Hill had 1 reception while practice squad player Damien Williams ran the ball 10 times (for a whopping 30 yards) and was targeted 8 times in the passing game. Andy Reid seemed to be pulling a page from the Seattle game plan a few weeks ago when they let some running back from the XFL or Canada named Carson run the ball 24 times into the Cowboys arms while keeping Russell Wilson out of the game plan. Shrewd.
Is Belichick that good or are all these other coaches that stupid? I think it might be a combination of both after watching these playoffs. After being dead and buried, the Pats have come storming back the last few weeks and despite rumors of impending retirement, the formerly useless Rob Gronkowski was in beast mode last night. Six receptions for 79 yards, including the dagger on the sideline that clinched the game. Unlike Andy Reid, Belichick put the ball in his best player’s hands for much of the night and realized we live and die with TB12 and Gronk. Shrewd!
So the Pats move on again and the MVP will be handed over to Mahomes who will be in Florida this week playing in the Pro Bowl not the Super Bowl because his coach decided to make sure a back up should decide his team’s fate. Shrewd.
