Sportsbozos.com picks Pats to win the Super Bowl

Brady to Gronk seals victory…

No dog in this fight.

As a New York Football Giants fan, this Bozo has no dog in this fight. The Giants, as a result of their two victories over the Patriots will always have bragging rights over the boys from Boston. I’m not a fan of any team from Boston, or really rom L.A., for that matter.
Belichick and Brady are appearing in their 9th Super Bowl together, beating all but the Giants and the Eagles to whom they last year of course, 41-33. The prior year, they were behind Atlanta 28-3 before their miraculous comeback. It’s hard to imagine New England falling behind early like they did against the Falcons. It’s also hard to picture a Brady led team coached by Belichick losing two Super Bowls in a row.

Given, Wade Phillips, the Rams defensive coordinator has fared very well while with Denver figuring out a way to stop the Pats twice while in Mile High. However Jared Goff at 23, and Sean McVay at 33, are facing the greatest tandem of QB and Coach to ever play and Coach in the NFL. By far, not even close. Their experience and preparation for the big game will be evident as the game unfolds. Belichick, the chess master will make any adjustments necessary and Brady will execute as he’s almost always done to lead the hated Patriots to another, their sixth, Super Bowl victory. No Philly Special this time. Goff and McVay will have plenty of years to return to the big game and this experience will be invaluable.

Interestingly, if not for a couple of plays, neither of these teams would be here, we easily could be talking Saints vs. Chiefs the last two weeks. If not for the abominable missed call in the Saints game that handed the Rams the win, New Orleans would be here. And if not for Dee Ford lining up offsides or Mahomes not given a chance in overtime, the Kansas City Chiefs could just as easily been here.

Probability and experience point to Brady and Belichick. The masterfully efficient opening drives the Pats directed as they matriculated down the field in the last two games against the Chargers and the Chiefs indicate that they should gain the early, lead. If they do not happen to jump out early, one has to figure Brady’s ability to mount a successful comeback exceeds that of Jared Goff and the Rams.
You would have to figure the Rams to blitz more and put pressure on Brady as per the Giants blueprint, however Brady will be ready for this with his dump off throws to White and his crossing routes to Edelman. A blitz would open up Gronk one on one and we have seen the big guy from the University of Arizona win that battle over and over.

The scoring might not be as high as expected- the over/ under is 56 ½ but with New England favored by 2 ½, one would naturally assume the Pats can win by at least a FG. I see it fairly close with New England pulling away slightly late (TD to seal it- Brady to Gronk) with Goff attempting to make a late charge. The Rams will fall a little short and lose by a score something like 33-24.

Enjoy the game!
