Kentucky Derby Outcome: Coming to NFL stadiums this fall!

The outrageous finish to the Derby this Saturday has once again divided the people and the crying on both sides has begun. President Trump even weighed in on this and at a sports bar on Sunday, a bunch of my friends who know about as much about horse racing as they do Keynesian Economic theory, were arguing over the outcome. While we can debate forever if the horse came over too far or not, the one big factor that seems to be infecting ALL SPORTS is the use of replay in super slow motion to capture everything and anything. Heck, Dustin Johnson lost a U.S. Open because a fan using his DVR called in to say he touched the sand. The time has come to let players in the field and on the backs of these horses decide games and get back to sanity. Unfortunately, this trend is about to get worse in the NFL because of those fat crying bastards in New Orleans who literally spent months crying over one call in the NFC championship game.

Due to Saints Coach Sean Peyton crying like a fat ten year old who found out Santa doesn’t exist, the NFL put in even MORE replay rules and it will have a devastating effect on games this fall. The new rule allows coaches for the first time to petition the referees to review a play and see if there was pass interference on a play. Particularly, in the last two minutes of a game the NFL will have a booth reviewing plays for P.I. even if no flag was throw on the field. Can’t wait for an Aaron Rodgers Hail Mary pass being caught (he completes a lot of them) and the Pack go running off the field as victors like the jockey on Saturday, only to find out in their locker room there was OFFENSIVE pass interference and they are now losers. There are so many unintended consequences to adding this new review in. In the same game the Saints cried FOUL!, Rams QB Jared Goff was rolling to his left on 3rd and goal when his head was jerked to the right from a facemask. No call on the play and the Rams had to kick a FG. Had the refs called this it would have been an automatic 1st down from the 1 yard line and they probably would have iced the game right then and there. So why are they only reviewing pass interference and not other penalties? It is time to prepare the Bozos out there for the inevitable use of this rule by the evil empire (New England Patriots) and their leader “Emperor Belichick ” and his evil protégé “Darth Brady Vader”.

Imagine a game in the fall in Miami. Josh Rosen has led the Dolphins to a 2 point lead and the Evil Empire Patriots have the ball at the 50 yard line, no timeouts and 2 seconds left to play. Darth Brady takes a drop, looks quickly to his left and instead throws down the right sideline where it is intercepted. As the Fins take off their helmet and carry young Josh Rosen off the field like “Rudy”, Emperor Belichick throws a red flag out. The DB may have had a hand on Edelman’s back running up the field before turning and intercepting an underthrown ball. Pass interference comes from the booth as YES and the ball is placed on the 20 yard, a field goal is kicked and Patriots win! This will be fun to watch! A crowd of 70,000 scream and rejoice WE WIN, WE WIN!!!!”…and then a reply on a penalty that was not called on the field leads an official in NY to say “NO YOU DIDN”T”. Mark my words when I tell you this stupid decision will even be used on receivers in the area who were held and may not have been the intended target. A recent study by the NFL showed that of ALL replay reviews since 1999, only 35% were over turned. The Derby was not an anomaly; it is going to become the norm.
