The NY Jets Hire “Fireman ED” and “Busacca Bozo” to Run Franchise

A little less than a year ago the Bozo’s wrote a piece called “puzzling moves” and we wondered why the Jets would draft a prize QB like Sam Darnold and keep loser coach Todd Bowles. Another losing season later and Bowles was fired but they kept their GM Mike Maccagnan (Magic Mike) to search for the replacement he hired. So “Magic Mike” goes out and hires the best coach in American Football history, Andrew Gase, to run the franchise. (Yes that was sarcasm). This was based primarily on an endorsement for Peyton Manning and Alyssa Milano who likes the fact Gase is “Pro Choice” and concerned about Climate Change. Never mind the fact he had a losing record in Miami or that his QB whispering into Ryan Tannehill’s ear resulted in him getting waived. If Papa John Peyton tells you to jump you ask “how high sir”!! The Jets then gave Magic Mike $100 million in cap money to spend on various players and most of his signings, I do approve of and think the team was improved. However, they once again let this out of touch man conduct an NFL draft where teams are built from the inside out. Once again, defensive players were selected time and again like they have been for the last five years while the offensive side of the ball basically has a young stud QB and a bunch of developmental league players who probably couldn’t even make most NFL rosters. A review of the draft picks the last five years under Magic Mike is shocking. How can one man strike out so many times? This guy couldn’t get lucky at a strip club with a brief case filled with dollar bills. Take a look at this and try not to scream:

2015 Draft
Leonard Williams DT: The 6th pick in the draft is serviceable at best.
Devin Smith WR: BUST: Out of football
Lorenzo Mauldin LB: BUST: Out of football
Bryce Petty QB: BUST: Out of football
Jarvis Harrison DT BUST: Out of football
Dean Simon DT: BUST: Out of football but on the Packers practice squad.

Six draft picks and only one (ONE!) player is still on a roster? Did Magic Mike watch film with Stevie Wonder?

2016 Draft:
Darron Lee LB: BUST: 1st round bust traded for a 6th round pick last night
Hackenberg QB: BUST: Out of Football. Never played in a game
Jordin Jenkins LB: Started 14 games and had 7 sacks… Serviceable pro.
Justin Burris CB: BUST: Started 2 games, now on browns practice squad
Brandon Shell: A reliable starter who at least plays in the NFL.. BRAVO!
Lac Edwards P: Well at least the jets found a starting punter in the draft.
Charone Peaks WR: BUST: 2 receptions last year for 25 yards. Awesome production!

I have to give Magic Mike a little credit. Out of this draft we at least got 3 starters who are steady if not spectacular, although when one of the three is a punter you realize you got robbed. But don’t worry Magic Mike has NINE picks in 2017 to shape the team…here we go!

2017 Draft:
Jamal Adams S: FINALLY a stud. Hard hitting playmaker and soul of defense
Marcus Maye FS: Serviceable player with a whopping 26 tackles and 2 int. (in2 years)
ArDarius Stewart: BUST: Out of football. Alabama WR was supposed to be a sleeper.
Chad Henson WR: BUST: Out of football
Jordan Legget TE: BUST: 14 total receptions in 2 years.
Dylan Donahue DE: BUST: Out of football already
Jeremy Clark CB: BUST: Out of football already.
Derrick Jones CB: BUST: Out of football after posting 3 tackles and 0 ints.
Elijah McGuire RB: A reserve running back who will not make team this year

I decided to stop right here because I think you get the picture. While some are calling the Jets dysfunctional for suddenly firing Magic Mike, my question is why he wasn’t let go years ago? Do you mean to tell me that he is really this inept at spotting NFL roster talent? Maybe it’s time the Jets bring in Fireman Ed and me to run the front office. We will have a few beers, watch some tape and make all their picks for them. How much worse can it be? The Jets draft 22 players from 2015 to 2017 and out of that group they found only one star (Adams) and the rest are just guys on a roster. More importantly, it is scary to think that so many of his picks not only were BUSTS but are out of football, which means other teams think they are pathetic. It’s not like the Jets are the Rams or Patriots, how hard can it be to make a 4 win team? Time to bring in FIREMAN ED and the Bozos to fix the Jet mess. After all, could we do any worse than Magic Mike?
